Family & Children Dentistry

Dentistry is a fun experience for the whole family!

At Asia Healthcare Dental Centre, we aim to be the one-stop oral healthcare provider for the entire family. It's our goal that we will be able to care for our patients from a young tender age till they are well on in years.

We are a children-friendly practice, with a dedicated dental surgeon catering to their dental and oral health needs. In Pediatric (or Children) Dentistry, our goal is to get them acquainted and accustomed to dental care from a young age. As the age-old adage goes, "Prevention is better than cure!" Good oral health, even of the baby teeth is important as they allow the permanent teeth to erupt properly, proper development of the face and speech development. A harmonious smile, even at a young age, gives emotional stability and confidence in self.

Orofacial and dentoalveolar growth and development can also be assessed and interventional treatment can be done to correct any anomalies at an earlier stage.

A great smile exudes confidence, security and dependability.

We provide In-Office Teeth-Whitening as well as Customized 'Take-Home' Teeth-Whitening Kits where you can obtain that whiter smile at your own leisure and convenience, in the comfort of your own home! Preventive & Restorative Dentistry

Gone are the days of drill-and-fill dentistry!

Today's mantra in dentistry is first preventing disease, then preservation of existing tooth and supporting structures, and, finally, operative dentistry, where the tooth and/or supporting structures require some form of restoration or rehabilitation.

We believe in educating our patients on the causes of chiefly, dental caries and periodontal disease and its consequences in our overall health. Diet, habit modification and oral health education is employed to help our patients prevent disease even before it occurs!

At Asia Healthcare, we practice minimally-invasive dentistry. Use of fluoride together with Casein Phospho-Peptide stabilized Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (CPP-ACP) has been shown to effectively reduce the incidence of dental caries and even reverse initial caries that are non-cavitated. With today's extensive research on adhesive dentistry, direct resin restorations (commonly known as tooth-colored fillings) have become reliable in terms of esthetics, bond-strength and longevity. With the restorative materials of today, cavity preparations can be minimalistic and ultra-conservative, thereby preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible.

Sadly, there will be some teeth that would have experienced significant destruction due to trauma or extensive dental caries. Crowns, inlays or onlays would then be necessary to restore these teeth back into function and esthetics. Some of these teeth might even require root canal treatment as the disease process would have progressed to involve the nerves of the tooth, spreading even to the surrounding bone.

In areas where there are missing teeth, treatment modalities available include bridges, removable partial (or complete) dentures and implant-supported prosthesis.

Orthodontics

Would you like to improve your smile?

Are your teeth crooked and crowded? Is your bite awkward? Are your teeth too "bugsy" or inclined backwards a tad too much? Would you like to improve your smile?

Malaligned teeth are usually difficult to clean and can result in an increased risk of tooth decay and gum disease. Chewing may also be difficult and can pose problems to the jaw muscles and joints resulting in chronic headaches, ear ache, neck aches, joint and facial pain.

Your teeth can be realigned using a variety of means; the most common is fixed braces, which are bonded to the teeth. Other than the metal brackets that we are accustomed to, ceramic brackets are also available, making the wearing of braces less discernible. With Invisalign, your teeth can be realigned comfortably without the use of brackets! Sequential custom-made aligners are fabricated which you can place on your own, achieving the desired teeth alignment.

Implant Dentistry

What do you do when you lost one or more of your teeth?

What treatment options are available?

Well, you could have the missing teeth replaced by a removable partial (or complete) denture or by a fixed bridge or you could have them replaced by dental implants. Dental implants are safe, with rigorous research being done over the past 50 years. Dental implants are essentially biocompatible, medical-grade titanium screws surgically installed in the jaw bone, with the dental prosthesis (be it crown, bridges or dentures) fabricated over it.

Dental implants are a conservative way of restoring missing teeth – no drilling of the neighboring teeth (as in bridges) or reliance on neighboring teeth for support and retention (as in dentures). What's more, dental implants look and feel natural, functioning like your natural teeth in terms of speech, eating and general comfort. In fact, you can look at dental implants as your second permanent teeth!

Wisdom Tooth Surgery

What to expect from a wisdom tooth surgery?

Wisdom tooth surgery, or third molar extraction, involves removing the molars at the back of the mouth. Typically performed under local or general anesthesia, the dentist or oral surgeon makes an incision to access the tooth, possibly removing bone blocking access. The tooth is then extracted, and stitches may be required. Recovery spans a few days to weeks, involving pain management, swelling reduction methods, and a soft diet. Complications like dry socket or infection are possible but rare. Following post-operative instructions and attending follow-ups is crucial for proper healing and to minimize discomfort or complications.

What is dental crowding?

Dental crowding refers to insufficient space within the jaw to accommodate all teeth, leading to crowding, overlapping, and misalignment, sometimes causing teeth to shift forward or backward.
